Annual household gross adjusted disposable income per person in current PPP US dollars, from OECD national accounts. It includes households and non-profit institutions serving households and social transfers in kind, such as publicly provided health and education. It differs from survey-based median household income: it divides national-accounts income by population rather than finding the middle household or adjusting for household size.
These affect how the figures can be compared.

The attached CSV is Household income per person, adjusted for living costs: NZ and other countries (household-income-per-person-international), from OECD, Household gross adjusted disposable income per person (current PPP US dollars). Describe how each measure has changed, naming its unit and period. Treat changes in basis and missing periods as breaks. Distinguish observation from explanation. Limitations: This is an average per person, not the income of a typical household; income distribution and household size matter. PPP adjusts for price levels across countries, not exchange rates; these are purchasing-power US dollars, not dollars exchanged in a bank. Current prices and current PPPs allow country comparisons for a given year; changes over time also reflect inflation and changing PPPs, not just real income growth. Adjusted disposable income includes social transfers in kind, not just cash available to spend. Gross income does not deduct consumption of fixed capital. Latest years differ between countries; some countries report financial years. Canada has OECD-estimated values, marked on the observations. The OECD total is not present in this national-accounts flow. The separate real-income index excludes social transfers in kind and has no New Zealand series.. Do not infer causation from changes during government terms.
